How to request deletion
You can request deletion of your Harland account and the personal data we hold for you at any time. Two paths:
- Email us at support@tryharland.com from the address on your Harland account. We will confirm within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 7 days.
- From the dashboard: sign in, go to Billing, and use the “Download my data” option to export first if you want a copy. Then email us to request deletion.
What gets deleted
When we process a deletion request, we permanently remove the following from our production systems within 7 days:
- Your user account and authentication records
- Your business profile (name, address, services, photos, logos, brand information, conversation history with our AI assistants)
- Your customer-facing website content (text, photos, customizations)
- Your customer records, leads, lead messages, and lead activity logs
- Connected-service credentials (OAuth tokens for Google Business Profile, Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.) — these are immediately revoked on the provider side as well
- Domain ownership records (you keep the domain itself)
- Stored AI-generated content (blog posts, city landing pages, logo variations)
What we retain (and why)
We retain a limited set of records as required by law or for essential accounting purposes:
- Billing receipts and Stripe transaction records — retained per US tax law requirements for our records. These contain the last four digits of your card and the amount charged; we never see the full card number.
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics — usage counts and product analytics that no longer identify you.
- Backup copies — encrypted database backups cycle out within 30 days. We don't actively restore from backups to recover deleted data unless required by law.
Connected services (Meta, Google, etc.)
If you connected third-party services (Meta Ads, Google Business Profile, Google Ads) to your Harland account, our deletion process revokes our OAuth access tokens on the provider side. After deletion, Harland can no longer read or write to those accounts.
Deleting your Harland account does not delete the data those providers hold — your Google Business Profile, Meta Ad campaigns, etc. remain in those platforms under your control. To delete data inside those services, use each provider's own deletion process.
What about data others gave you?
If customers submitted contact forms on your Harland-hosted website, that lead data was collected by you (the contractor) through our platform. When you delete your Harland account, the leads stored on our side are deleted with everything else. If you've already exported leads or used them elsewhere (e.g. your CRM), that's outside our control.
Quick deletion (Meta-connected users)
If you connected your Meta account to Harland and want to revoke access immediately without contacting us, you can do that directly from Meta:
- Go to facebook.com/settings → Business Integrations
- Find “Harland” in the list
- Click Remove — this revokes our access immediately
This removes the connection on Meta's side. To also delete the records we already stored from past syncs, email us at support@tryharland.com.
Confirmation
Once deletion is complete, we send a confirmation email to the address you used to request it. The confirmation includes a reference code you can keep for your records.
