Terms of Service
Effective May 12, 2026
The short version
Local Field OS is a software service for trade-business contractors — plumbers, electricians, HVAC, landscapers, and similar. By signing up, you agree to these terms. Don't use the service to do illegal things or to harass anyone. We'll do our best to keep the platform running, but it's provided "as is." If something goes wrong, our liability is capped at what you've paid us in the last 12 months.
Who runs this
Local Field OS is operated as a sole proprietorship. Contact: dakbrwn@gmail.com.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure and for what happens on your account. If someone else gets in, email us right away. You're also responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us (your business name, address, license number, photos, etc.) — we render that on your public website.
What you can and can't do
- Use the service for a real trade business.
- Don't impersonate someone else or another company.
- Don't use the service to send spam, phishing, scams, or anything illegal under US law.
- Don't reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the platform itself. Building your business on top of it (using the leads, running your operation) is exactly what it's for.
- We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms — usually after a warning, immediately if there's real harm.
Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard and your subscription stays active until the end of the current period. Domain purchases are a separate one-time charge with a 3% processing fee added on top of the registrar's pass-through cost. We refund a failed domain purchase automatically if registration or attachment fails on our end.
SMS notifications (program disclosures)
Program name: Local Field OS Lead Alerts.
Program description: When a customer fills out the contact form on your Local Field OS website, you receive an SMS notification with their contact info and a link to manage the lead in your dashboard. You can also send and receive SMS replies to those customers through the dashboard.
Message frequency: Variable. Typically one message per lead. Occasional account notices.
Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply per your mobile carrier's plan. Local Field OS does not charge you for the messages themselves.
Opt-in: You opt in by providing your mobile number when you create your account or update your business profile. Providing your number is your consent to receive SMS notifications about leads and account events.
Opt-out: Reply STOP to any text from us to unsubscribe immediately. You'll get one confirmation message, then no more SMS. You can re-subscribe anytime by updating your profile.
Help: Reply HELP to any text for support info, or email dakbrwn@gmail.com.
Carriers: Supported on all major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy: See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your phone number and message content. Mobile information and SMS opt-in data are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of the photos, copy, leads, and any other content you put into Local Field OS. You grant us a limited license to host, display, and process that content so we can run the service for you. We don't use it for anything else.
AI-generated content
Local Field OS uses AI to draft website copy and generate logos based on information you provide. You're responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before publishing it. We do our best to keep it accurate but can't guarantee it — if something's wrong, edit it in the dashboard.
Service availability
We'll work to keep the service running reliably, but we don't promise uptime guarantees. Things break. When they do, we fix them as fast as we can.
No warranties; liability cap
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for lost profits, lost data, or consequential damages.
Changes to the service or these terms
We may add, change, or remove features. If we materially change these terms, we'll email you before the changes take effect. The latest version always lives at this URL with the effective date at the top.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located there.
